Bio:
Nando Kwabena Nkrumah was born in 1979 in Kumasi, Ghana. He is a visual artist with Ghanaian-German roots who lives in Cologne, Germany. His expressions of issues and concerns of the African diaspora are techno-cultural and often informed by science fiction. His “Afrofuturistic” multimedia work combines painting, animation, products, spatial installations, and mixed reality applications, and explores the tension between technology and cultural heritage. In 2021 he started to work as a curator for the first ARX-Africa exhibition to create a full augmented reality (AR) show that revealed the diversity of twenty three African and international Black artists at Kunstmuseum Bonn and the Opoku Ware II Museum, KNUST (Kumasi) titled THE POWERHOUSE.
