Tate Liverpool Director visits Department of Painting & Sculpture

On October 28th 2019, blaxTARLINES KUMASI, Opoku Ware II Museum and the Department of Painting & Sculpture hosted Helen Legg, Director of Tate Liverpool in the UK.
Helen Legg, whose curatorial experience spans a period of over two decades, shared insights into her professional work and the institutional structures that regulate contemporary art and the international art market. She discussed these among, among other things, with faculty, students and members of the general public.
Legg was appointed Director of Spike Island in Bristol, U.K in 2010. Her leadership focused on development programmes and creating opportunities for emerging artists. She was appointed Director of Tate Liverpool in 2018.
